I initially spent two night with 33 high school students and 4 other adults in this hostel. My room (with my wife) had a king bed, TV private bath… read more and quite functional furniture in the hostel. It was quite perfect for sleeping, our only time we intended to be in the hostel. The students were in a dormitory like situation with bunk beds and separate baths and showers but it was fine for our purpose.

The top floor also had a game room with a pool table, ping pong table and some type of electronic game on a large TV. The kids were up there until way late at night (I was asleep two floors below) and they enjoyed that room alot.

I also ended up spending an additional week in the hostel as one of my travelers tested positive for covid prior to our return to the US. The hostel staff was VERY generous with their time and talents and made our quarantine stay quite comfortable. They were extremely accommodating to the traveler’s dietary preferences and the meals provided to me were culturally exciting, visually appealing and absolutely delicious!! I can’t say enough to commend the excellent staff and facilities!!!

Each floor is designed in a different color and has information regarding the different ecosystems and areas in Ecuador. The staff is all very friendly and more than happy to help you out (they also all speak fluent English which makes communicating easier). The Laundry service is great quality and reliable. When we left our trip the bakery (which had AMAZING croissants) was undergoing renovations to develop into a restaurant – and if their food is as good as their pastries then it will be a VERY good restaurant. The staff is not happy if your not happy – and are incredibly accommodating.
